We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new Merge Memphis Online Store, featuring the exquisite Dandelion Farm line of Social Enterprise Jewelry products. This unique collection is crafted by the resilient women who come to Merge Memphis seeking assistance and a fresh start.

MERGE Memphis needs you as they work to help women in need

They need the public’s help as well with donations, especially winter coats, jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves.

“We try to take things like clothing, food, and shelter out of their daily worries,” said Executive Director Sherry McClure.

Our Mission

Merge Memphis exists simply to assist underserved women to live in dignity, safety, and peaceful surroundings alongside other like-minded women working towards a better life of self-sufficiency and self-worth.

Our Impact

34% of the Homeless population in Memphis are women
74% of Homeless women in our community have some form of mental illness
With Merge Memphis 72 women were provided shelter, totaling over 8,700 nights
8 women graduated from our 18-month Clare’s House Program
28 women transitioned from Clare’s House to Housing
70 Life Skill Classes were offered
165 Volunteers logged 1,622 service hours
We’ve added a Trauma Specialist, Social Worker, and Volunteer Coordinator to our staff.

Lettuce Serve + Juice Plus

Lettuce Serve allows the residents of Clare’s House to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to the 38108 zip code where they are located. As the 4th poorest zip code in the state of Tennessee, it is also a food desert as there are no viable options for fresh produce in the area. From the center of 38108, the closest fresh vegetables are approximately 5 miles away.

Noting at Clare’s House, the lack of soil garden space, we have partnered with Juice Plus utilizing their Hydroponic Garden Tower system. Merge needs 12 Tower Gardens to supply Clare’s House and the community. Merge currently has partnered with Pinnacle Bank, Cricket Wireless, SouthPoint Church, and 4 individual donors to start our system. We need you to become our partner!

The women of Clare’s House want to bless the community that has taken them in their time of need by allowing them to serve the very thing the community needs most, fresh food options grown in love. These healthier options can and will impact the community’s over all health.

Our Programs

Everything we do, we do with LOVE.

Clare’s House

Opened in 2020 as “Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing”. Currently housing 27 ladies. Basics are provided. Ladies are offered Life Skill classes, trauma recovery, job placement, and other wrap-around services to move clients toward independence. The program is 18-24 months with housing assistance offered after completion of the program. Ladies start to heal here and face the challenges preventing them from moving forward.

Cleveland House

Cleveland House opened in 2023 as a “Step Forward” facility. It is home to 8 Clare’s House graduates. At Cleveland House, the clients have more responsibilities and independence, from keeping the home clean; to planning, prepping, and making meals. Financial planning for independence is also required. “Keys to Freedom” is offered along with other Life skills needed to move closer to independence.

Home of Hope

Opening in 2024, HOH will provide 15 Permanent Supportive Housing units: single living occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms that have been totally renovated with a grant from the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. HOH will assist the client with moving forward in their journey. Wrap-around services will be offered, including social work grief classes, art therapy, trauma therapy, and more. All to assist clients to become their best SELF!

Dandelion Farm Products by Merge Memphis

Grow Bloom Fly
This social enterprise was started in late 2022 after a generous grant was obtained from The Mary Galloway Home Foundation. Dandelion Farms has provided an extra stream of income for our ladies who choose to participate – age 55 and older. These ladies have learned the artesian skills of soap making, wax melt pouring, and making beautiful handmade jewelry. Buy their products on our Shopify store or on our “Dandelion Farm” Facebook page.
